What a show!
Four of us went to see the Beauty and the Beast show at the Kings Theatre, Southsea, last Friday night, and the most telling comment was: 'We could be in the West End'! All of us agreed that the production was superb, as were the costumes and scenery.This was Portsmouth Players' most stunning and professional production ever seen over the many years I've attended their performances at the Kings Theatre. The strength of all of the lead parts was perfectly complemented by the strength of all the minor leads, all of whom held very strong stage presences. It's difficult not to single out one particular person but Gatson was superb! The players are going to have an extremely difficult task in choosing their next production if it's to come anywhere near to Beauty and the Beast! Well done to every single person who contributed to providing such a wonderful evening's entertainment.
